Is the facility licensed?
Yes. The Charless Home is fully licensed by the Missouri Division of Aging and provides the highest standards of care.
What’s included in the monthly fee?
At The Charless Home, each resident has a private room and use of the common areas - sunrooms, library, parlor, sitting rooms, chapel, the large sunny dining room, and the new walking path around the property. Your monthly fee also includes utilities (except telephone) housekeeping services, laundry services, three nutritionally balanced meals daily, and regularly scheduled special events, daily activities, and the services of our chauffeur for physician appointments.
Do you have a doctor’s office?
In order to provide for the needs of our residents, we have physicians and specialists who make regular visits to see the residents, and a pharmacy service that delivers prescriptions.
Can residents have guests for meals?
Visitors are welcome at The Charless Home. Family and friends often come to share meals, to spend time in the sunrooms, or to celebrate special occasions.
Do you have a beauty or barber shop?
Residents of The Charless Home enjoy the convenience of a hair salon on the premises. Service charges are reasonable, and the hair salon is open four days a week.
Can residents come and go as they please?
Yes, all we ask is that each resident sign out when they leave the building and sign in when they return.
Is there on-site security?
Monitored entries and the presence of staff members at all times provides a secure environment for all residents of The Charless Home. In addition, the front and rear gates are closed in the evenings. Visitors must announce themselves over the intercom to gain entry.
Is there an emergency call system?
Residents and their families can be reassured by the 24-hour availability of medical professionals for any emergencies which may arise. Each room is equipped with an emergency call system.
Is transportation provided?
The convenient use of The Charless Home automobile and chauffeur is provided, along with the access of Bi-State buses at the main entrance give all residents, whether or not they drive, opportunities for shopping, leisure, or personal business. And The Charless Home's mini-bus takes residents shopping, banking and to places of interest in the metropolitan area, such as the Old Cathedral, the Missouri Botanical Gardens, the Municipal Opera, the St. Louis Art Museum, Crown Candy, Ted Drewes, The Butterfly House at Faust Park, and the Zoo!
